Gatekeepers: “The people who decide which musicians get their work heard by the masses”. With the music industry ever changing and the insertion of social media becoming a huge component of how artists labels producers and songwriters expose their music to the masses, who are the new gatekeepers? In order for a musician to expose their music to as many people as possible, several "Gates" must be opened for them. In the commercial marketplace for music, Gatekeepers control the access to the musician’s potential audience. Come meet some of the gatekeepers of the Latin music industry: from artist managers, to radio station music directors, buyers & distributors, record labels, music journalists, booking agents and promoters—during the first-ever Music Town Hall at Hispanicize 2016.
