Doreen Colondres wants to convince the world that The Kitchen Doesn't Bite!


With a fresh and charismatic vibe, she is revolutionizing the way people think about food. Passionate about teaching people to cook with fresh, flavorful, and seasonal ingredients, she encourages people to enjoy cooking and the time we spend eating. Her mission is to convince us that cooking is a heritage and a tradition that is fun, relaxing, easy, romantic, but more importantly, healthy. A tireless and enthusiastic world traveler, she is always curious to get to know every culture and ingredient in depth, to share with us the flavors and traditions of other cuisines around the globe.


Her background of family cooking values motivated her to create LaCocinaNoMuerde.com and Doreen’s first book was recently published by Random Penguin House (June 2015) achieving the #1 best seller regional and international during the pre-sale month.  She hosts cooking segments on Univisión national show: “Despierta América” and hosted 3 cooking shows on FoxLife-Utilísima, airing in 16 countries for 5 years. She is also the Food and Wine Editor for Siempre Mujer national magazine from Meredith Publishing and Cala 3.0, a digital magazine from the respectful CNN anchor and writer Ismael Cala and has a syndicated column in more than 25 important magazines, newspapers and websites around the world.


She was the chef behind the successful health campaign "Reto28" from Univisión network, followed by more than 400K Latinos in just 30 days. In 2015 Doreen became the National Pork Board Celebrity Chef hosting a powerful online and national media campaign featuring her pork recipes.


Since 2013 Doreen is also Chef Ambassador for Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical, a leader in diabetes care. Yearly, she hosted more than 30 live cooking shows around the US to increase awareness about healthy lifestyle, obesity and diabetes.


In 2013 she became the first Hispanic Celebrity Chef for the Bordeaux Wine Council, the most prestigious wine region in the world. As spokesperson for the "Viva Bordeaux" campaign she designed a Latin recipe guide paired with Bordeaux wines.  In 2012 & 2013 she was Bumble Bee Foods Celebrity Chef. As their only bicultural chef, she developed recipes embracing "BeeWell for Life®" brand philosophy. She has also worked with Got Milk, Target, California Raisins & DO Ribera del Duero.


She studied in culinary schools in NY, CA and graduated in FL.  Doreen is a Level 1 & 2 Certified Sommelier with Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), Level 1 with The Court of Master Sommelier and Level 1 & 2 with US Sommelier Association. She has also studied at the École du Vin in Bordeaux, France and has traveled to more than 20 wine regions around the world.  She also has a BBA in Business Administration & Marketing.
