Jorge Ortega brings more than two decades of international and U. S. multicultural experience in marketing and communications to the position leading the Miami office. Jorge spent the first half of his career working in Burson-Marsteller offices in New York, Chicago, Mexico City and Miami. He was the general manager of B-M Mexico and in Miami started and built the Latin America Brand Communications Practice and Burson-Marsteller’s first U.S. Hispanic division.

Jorge also developed JeffreyGroup into a leading Latin America and US Hispanic agency. Prior to returning to Burson, he was the founder and managing partner of Newlink America, the Hispanic market and communications consulting firm. He managed clients such as Coca-Cola, Diageo, ESPN Deportes, Janssen, Juan Valdez Coffee and the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation.

Jorge has advised executives in the areas of brand marketing, corporate communications, issues management and public affairs. In addition, he brings a wealth of experience helping clients develop and manage Hispanic marketing campaigns. He has worked with diverse clients including: Abbott, Bacardi, Baptist Health, FedEx, Johnson& Johnson, Merck, Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, Mylan, Procter & Gamble, Ryder, Western Union, among others.

Jorge received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Marketing from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is married to Tracy LaFlamme Ortega and has three daughters, Anna, Francesca and Bella.
