Cathy Hackl is a Costa Rican-American,  Emmy-nominated broadcaster turned public relations professional & social media strategist. She is helping brands from across the globe with their Periscope and live streaming strategy through her consulting business, Globally Social. Hackl is the co-creator of Live Video Campus™ and the former director of Periscope Community Summit. She was recognized by Onalytica as one of 2015's top 50 Public Relations influencers. Hackl teaches Social Media Management at IE Business, one of Europe’s top business schools and lectures at Milan's SDA Bocconi School of Management. She has spoken in the U.S., Latin America and Asia on communications and social media. Hackl will also start teaching as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Florida College of Journalism & Communications in 2016. She has more than 10 years of combined experience in PR, social media & communications and working in national and local media including outlets such as CNN, FOX5, Discovery Channel and ABC News. Hackl is experienced in social PR, media relations, internal communications, digital strategy, business-to-business, and business-to-consumer communications. She has worked with clients in the technology, nonprofit, sustainability, hospitality, healthcare, commercial interior design and human resources sectors. Hackl holds an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and MS in Mass Communication from Florida International University, as well as BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Texas. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
