Christina Schelling has served as the vice president, Talent Acquisition & Engagement in Human Resources at Prudential Financial since April 2014.  She is responsible for strategic recruitment efforts including campus and diversity programs, in addition to the Company’s talent brand strategy and engagement functions.   

Prior to joining Prudential Financial, Schelling spent more than seven years at American Express, most recently as the vice president, Transformation and Change in Global Human Resources. In this capacity, Schelling was tasked with establishing an HR operational function to support a global organizational re-design. She oversaw all change management efforts for the new outsourced HR service delivery model and was responsible for third-party relationship management. She also led supplier governance and performance functions to drive standardization, decrease risk and optimize business spend. 

Before her move into HR operations, Schelling spent three years leading the Global Diversity & Inclusion team. As vice president of Global Diversity & Inclusion, she provided oversight for various components of American Express’s diversity strategy including international diversity practices in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. When Schelling joined American Express in 2007 she managed the Corporate Change and Development team that supported complex business transformations and talent management within the global shared services organization. 

Prior to joining American Express, Schelling worked as a management consultant in the organizational change strategy practice at IBM Business Consulting Services leading large-scale business transformation and change management initiatives for U.S. intelligence and defense agencies. Before that, she worked for the U.S. federal government supporting organizational effectiveness activities and providing intelligence and leadership analysis. 

Schelling is an accomplished Human Resources practitioner often speaking on topics that include sponsorship, the millennial generation, work-life effectiveness, and managing your brand for career advancement. 

She holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree in organizational development from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
